What really stands out is how it helps with relaxation. Whether I’m winding down after a long day, dealing with anxiety, or just trying to focus, this hoodie makes a noticeable difference. It’s like having a wearable comfort zone.
As a mom, I can honestly say this deep pressure hoodie has become a staple in our house. My kids practically live in these things now
What really sets this one apart for us is the thoughtful design. The strings have chewable beads, which have been amazing for my kids’ oral fixation.
Our StoryI worked as a behavioral therapist for over 20 years, and one moment has always stayed with me.
One night, a young girl I was supporting was in the middle of a trauma response. She had pulled her knees up into her hoodie, rocking back and forth, trying to self-soothe but in the process, she was stretching and ripping the seams just to create that sense of containment and pressure her body was craving.
I offered her a sensory sock, something I knew could help. But she refused. Not because it wouldn’t work because of the stigma. She didn’t want to feel different. She didn’t want to use something that labeled her.
That moment changed how I saw everything.
I remember thinking: what if the support didn’t look like a “tool”? What if it just looked like something cool, something anyone would want to wear?
That’s why this hoodie means so much to me.
The deep pressure provides that same grounding, calming input in a way that feels natural and safe. And the built-in sensory elements like the chewable beads on the strings offer subtle, accessible ways to self-regulate without drawing attention.
What I love most is that people actually want to wear it. There’s no stigma, no resistance just comfort, confidence, and support built into something they already love.
After decades in this field, I’ve seen countless tools come and go. But something that blends function, dignity, and everyday wear like this? That’s truly meaningful.
I hope you enjoy my creation,
Much love,
Brandi
The Science Behind Deep Pressure
Deep pressure stimulation is a well researched therapeutic technique known to calm the body and support emotional regulation.
Studies have shown that deep pressure can reduce physiological stress levels by up to 33%, with many individuals reporting decreased anxiety and an increased sense of calm.
This response is rooted in how the nervous system works. Gentle, consistent pressure activates the parasympathetic nervous system the body’s natural “rest and digest” state. This helps slow heart rate, lower cortisol (the stress hormone), and increase the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter associated with feelings of well-being and relaxation.
The result is a grounded, calming effect that helps the body feel safe, regulated, and at ease.
Why Full-Body Deep Pressure Matters
Deep pressure stimulation is most effective when it is evenly distributed across the body. Research shows that broader, consistent pressure input provides stronger activation of the parasympathetic nervous system the part of the body responsible for calming and regulation.
Full body pressure helps create a greater sense of containment and security, which can lead to deeper relaxation, reduced stress levels, and improved emotional regulation.
While weighted hoodies can offer localized pressure, they typically concentrate weight on the shoulders and upper body. For some individuals, this may not provide the same level of calming input as evenly distributed pressure.
That said, wearable options like hoodies play an important role. They offer accessible, everyday support especially in situations where full-body tools (like weighted blankets or sensory socks) aren’t practical or socially comfortable.
The goal isn’t replacement it’s providing the right kind of support, at the right time, in a way that people will actually use.
